Zijn laatste album Equilibrium rechtvaardigdt Aynsley Lister’s positie als een "leading light " in de rock/blues arena. Aynsley is een van de weinige artiesten die rock speelt met een "modern edge", gespeeld met passie, vitaliteit en overweldigend gitaarspel. Invloeden van Hendrix, Clapton, Stereophonic tot Kula Shaker maken van zijn oeuvre een ecclectisch geheel. De bal begon te rollen, toen zijn platenlabel Ruf in 1998 zijn debuutplaat "Aynsley Lister" uitbracht. Met de hulp van producer Jim Gaines (Stevie Ray, Albert Collins, Santana) werd een werkstuk gecreëerd dat volwassenheid en diepgang combineert. De "Live"- CD en DVD uit 2004 bevestigde zijn uitstekende podiumreputatie, maar Lister blijft vastberaden beklijvende songs componeren. De verkoop van zijn vorige albums ("Supakev ‘n’ Pilchards", "Everything I Need" en "All Or Nothing") bewijst dat er wel degelijk een commerciële markt is voor 'nieuwe' blues-rock artiesten.
